What to expect:

If this is your first time hiring a doula or even if it isn't this page is all about what you can expect from a doula but also from my personal services.

First things first are booking a consultation. This is an opportunity for us to connect, get to know one another, and explore how continuous, compassionate support can shape your birth experience. During this meeting, we’ll talk about your pregnancy, your hopes and preferences for birth, any concerns or past experiences, and what kind of support feels most aligned for you.

You’ll learn about my role as a birth doula, the services I offer, and how I support you emotionally, physically, and informationally throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. This is also a time for you to ask questions, discuss your birth vision, and see if we’re a good fit to work together.

There is no pressure or obligation—this consultation is simply a space for clarity, comfort, and connection as you consider the support that feels right for your growing family.

Birth Doula Support

I offer nonjudgmental, continuous support for all types of labor and birth, including hospital births, birth center births, and home births. While I fully support home birth families, home births must be attended by a licensed medical professional such as a midwife. As a birth doula, I do not provide medical care, diagnose, or replace a healthcare provider—instead, I work alongside your chosen care team to support you emotionally, physically, and informationally.

Prenatal Support

Prenatal visits are designed to help you feel informed, confident, and supported as you prepare for birth. During our time together, we will:

  • Review evidence-based birth information

  • Discuss and create your birth plan and preferences

  • Address questions, fears, and concerns

  • Practice comfort measures, positioning, relaxation, and coping techniques

  • Explore partner support and communication

  • Prepare for different labor scenarios and decision-making

If desired, I can also accompany you to prenatal appointments. This can look different depending on your comfort level—I can join you in the exam room or remain in the waiting area for emotional support and advocacy as you choose.

Labor & Birth Support

I provide continuous labor support, beginning as soon as early labor starts. From that point through birth, I offer steady presence and reassurance, drawing on the techniques we practiced prenatally and adjusting support as labor unfolds.

Typical birth doula support includes:

  • Emotional encouragement and grounding support

  • Physical comfort measures such as massage, counter-pressure, positioning, breathing guidance, and relaxation techniques

  • Advocacy for your stated needs, preferences, and informed choices

  • Support for your partner so they can remain present and confident

  • Helping maintain a calm, supportive environment

  • Offering information and reminders to help you navigate options without pressure

My role is to support you—your body, your voice, and your experience—throughout labor and birth.

Postpartum Support

Postpartum support is scheduled in approximately 3-hour increments, with flexibility to adjust based on your needs. These visits are a time to rest, process, and receive hands-on help as you transition into life with your new baby.

Postpartum support may include:

  • Emotional support and space to talk and reflect on your birth

  • Light household help such as dishes and tidying

  • Gentle massage and comfort care

  • Newborn and family support education

  • Nourishment through custom, home-cooked meals, with the number of meals included depending on your chosen package

Each postpartum visit is centered on what will best support your healing, adjustment, and well-being.
